Approach

Katie’s own country experience includes work in Cameroon, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Indonesia, Nepal, Mexico, Myanmar and the Philippines, amongst others.

As a coach and developer of others, she is supportive, reliable and practical and has particular interests in new managers, introversion and working across cultures.

About

Educated at the University of St Andrews and with a Masters degree in Education, Power and Social Change from Birkbeck, University of London, Katie is a VoicePrint Master Practitioner and an ILM certified Action Learning Set facilitator.

Katie works primarily in international humanitarian and development organisations and settings, developing, delivering and evaluating learning in a variety of global contexts. In senior management roles she has led multi-level international teams and inter-agency networks to implement capacity strengthening and learning programmes globally.

Her principal interest is as a learning and development expert, providing training, simulation, mentoring, coaching, action learning, online and remotely-facilitated learning. She has worked for the Red Cross Movement, International Organisation for Migration, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR). She was responsible for the pre-departure training of NHS volunteers deploying to the 2015 Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone on behalf of the Department for International Development (DfID).
