About

Janie trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and pursed an acting career for the next 12 years in theatre, television, radio and film. With a Master’s degree from the Central School of Speech and Drama, she then became a voice and dialect coach in theatre before enlarging her own stage and becoming a voice skills coach and facilitator for clients ranging from mining organisations in Australia to investment banking in New York, from Telecoms to FMCG and from Business Schools to charities.

A self-employed professional coach for more than 20 years, she develops the communications, influencing and personal impact capabilities of individuals at all levels from senior executives to high potential leaders and new graduates. Janie continues to develop her own know-how, completing a further Master’s degree in Performance Psychology at Edinburgh University and volunteering in her spare time as a listener for the Samaritans.

Janie’s book The Listening Shift (2021) was recommended by Management Today as one of the top 10 books for CEOs to read.
